The Spirit of Comparison

As we know the enemy has one mission according to John 10:10 - to steal, kill and destroy. The thing is ... he does this best by planting seeds of division in our hearts that seek to separate Man from God,  Brother from Brother, and then turn us against ourselves -- and we become our own worst critic. He is so shrewd ...

The bible tells us constantly that we should know our enemy. We have but one adversary, not many. I am reminded all the time that Satan knows the bible. Yet, we sometimes forget that he has no power over us, except that that we give him. Many, many of you hear are seasoned in the word. So at anytime, you can add to this.

The spirit of comparison is wicked. This spirit seldom travels alone. He walks with intimidation, insecurity, inferiority, jealousy, envy, competition, rejection and pride. As needed, they come to begin chipping away at the very anointing God has placed in your life to do a thing. Sometimes folks release this spirit ... but more times than not ... we open the door for this spirit ourselves by doubting God's ability to use us. Then subtely the enemy begins to speak to us. We accept what he's saying instead of rejecing it with God's word -- and he walks through the crack in the door.

It is for this very reason that I do not support "competitions, gospel showdows, poetry slams, and other events" that pit gifts in the body of Christ against one another and then awards the "best gift" with a monetary prise or title. For those with and ear to hear -- please know that this is the spirit of comparison at work and it is talked about in the scriptures.

The bible says this:

 Corinthians 10:12-13 (New King James Version)

I thank God when he reveals things like this to us. God knows I've walked in this spirit -- and find myself fighting it sometimes now - especially when I'm in an open mic setting or preparing to speak at a large conference. But there's a reason why we react this way. What God is saying today  is that we must overcome in this area! We can do that by making an open show of the devil - throwing ourselves out there under his leading and building our most holy faith in God. Truly, if God is for us -- who can be against us!

Now, the operating of this spirit is NOT UNCOMMON in the worship arts. In fact, it runs rampant in the arts -- particularly the musical gifts believe it or not. That's why it is important to place ourselves in an environment like this one -- where folks aren't showcasing their gifts. In the Scribal Anointing group, our focus IS ALWAYS ON, what God is saying to us and to his people. That's the difference.

Because this is our focus, and I know that it is the focus of those who interact regularly here, we know by the spirit of the Lord that this is an attempt of the enemy to break down something GOD HAS ESTABLISHED. Again, this is the adversary's job. Our job is to destroy his plans ... before he has a chance to plant something and allow it to take root.

I want to encourage you today. Please know that what you have -- the body needs. There is no man on this planet that is greater than you. God loves each one of us the SAME and wants each one of us to develop our ministry of reconciliation to its fullest ... making full proof of our ministries.

I pray that each one of you receive this message in love. More than likely, I'll go deeper with this and post more on the website. But for now, let God illuminate this word in your heart. The purpose of this is to try to shut down your gift.

The Scribal Anointing is a BIRTHING ministry. Here in Atlanta, just to share a little bit, many have come to the ministry of Voices of Christ in hopes of perfecting or birthing their scribal gift. What God is really doing is birthing or EXPANDING a five fold ministry gifting  in many of you. Because he couldn't get that gift out of you in any other way ... he uses your writing. From the writing, he begins to place you before people to talk about your writing. Then, as you talk about your writing ... you begin to talk about him. As the word of God continues to come alive you begin to demonstrate what he's showing you through your writing with others ... and before long ... you will wake up one day ... and wonder how you ended up in a place where you are able to not only share your gift and lead people to Christ -- but you feel a call to go into deeper waters.

So know ... that no one can out smart God. (smile) He has a plan far greater than ours. Also know that when things like this happen -- it may seem like an attack of the enemey - but it's really God showing us something about ourselves that will bring forth deliverance. SATAN, YOU AND YOUR AGENTS HAVE BEEN FOUND OUT AND EXPOSED IN THE NAME OF JESUS! YOU HAVE NO POWER, NO AUTHORITY IN THIS PLACE WHERE THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD DWELLS! IN THE NAME OF JESUS, YOU YET LAY UNDER OUR FEET, UNDER THE POWER OF THE NAME OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST WHICH DWELLS WITHIN US.

HOLY SPIRIT, I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TODAY, TO GO INSIDE MY HEART AND UNCOVER ANY HIDDEN THING IN ME THAT LEADS TO THE DOORWAY FOR THE SPIRIT OF COMPARISON, AND CLEAN HOUSE AS ONLY YOU CAN! HOLY SPIRIT, PURGE THIS GROUP OF ANY HIDDEN AGENDA'S AND SHINE YOUR LIGHT FATHER, IN EVERY DARK CREVICE THAT SEEKS TO HIDE ITSELF FROM YOU AND YOUR PEOPLE. HAVE YOUR WAY HERE HOLY SPIRIT ... IN JESUS NAME. AMEN
