Journaling Ignites The Scribal Anointing

This is on my heart today. It's not a prophetic word, but just something the Lord has taught me, and I really want to share it with you.  -- Prophetess Theresa Johnson 6/6/06

Tapping into the Scribal Anointing is quite simple really. It is a matter of developing a close and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. When I first gave my life to the Lord; however, this wasn't so easy. I didn't understand prayer for one thing, and for the other, I thought I was too unclean or unrighteous to be heard.

Well, I started writing poetry when I was 7 years old. Because of the mutliple levels of abuse and turmoil that I experienced growing up, I turned to notebooks and journaling to speak, to cry and to share. I grew up feeling like I was unimportant and that no one cared about what I thought or how I felt. But my "journal" -- which I nicknamed "Heart" -- did care. I saved many of them, and when I look back ... I can see the tear stained pages and the fading pencil marks. Things that happened to me in my life that I couldn't remember as I grew older ... are memorialized in these journals that I can now read ... with great joy, relief and piece in my deliverance through Jesus Christ.

I carried my journals with me through my youth, adolescence as I moved from foster home facility to family member, and even into my adult life -- and I write now. Journaling helped purge my heart of all the ungodly STUFF that was in it and BIRTH my scribal ministry.

If you don't already do so, I URGE you to start a journal. You will grow quickly in this group if you do so. "I pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that this gift is enhanced in you as you write! I pray that God STIRS UP the gifts! In Jesus Name!"

Pray over your journal and dedicate it to God. Sanctify it! When you can't talk to people or can't seem to make yourself pray ... WRITE. And if you talk to much and tend to run off at the mouth (smile) when you are hurt, angry or distressed in some way ... begin to write your feelings out through journaling! You will be glad you did.

Because you are Sons of God, God will take these written words ... and bring your what you need. Do place the journal in a special place -- away from prying eyes, and inquisitive spirits. You don't even have to let anyone know you journal ... unless you just want to share.

I have a bookcase in my home, and an entire bottom shelf is filled with the 99 cent journals I purchase to write in. They go unnoticed by my children (with the exception of my two year old who has autographed a few of them for me). Most folks I know have grown used to seeing me carry one, and ask "where's your writing book?" when I don't.

JOURNALING WILL BIRTH THE SCRIBAL ANOINTING IN YOU!

JOURNALING WILL TAKE YOUR GIFT TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

JOURNALING WILL UNLOCK SECRETS IN YOUR HEART! JOURNALING WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A PRAYER LIFE IF YOU DESIRE IT!

WOW ... I had to shout that.

I'm not telling you something I read, or asking you to do something someone taught me. All that's good too, but I'm telling you this because of the testimony I can give because of it. I'm alive today because God gave me writing as an outlet. I'm telling your what I've learned through my own walk. I write in my journal now ... especially when I'm upset, angry or seem to be slipping off the path God has set for me.

As we grow in this group, we will talk about the power of this tool more. I will even share with you what the bible says about writing. But for many of you, I know this message is already bearing witness with your spirit. Never forget that prophet writing is born of INTIMACY.

"Write the words that I have commanded you ... says the Lord!"
