Dream & Word of the Lord: The Christian Buffet (March 8, 2011)
This is the first part of this prophetic word. This warning, however, is geared toward the congregation. The second part is concerning those leading the congregation.

The Dream: The Christian Buffet

In this dream I was on my way to a ministry engagement. I was going to receive an impartation from a minister the Lord had placed in my life. Suddenly, I saw the minister (whom I do not know) walking toward me. He was well dressed, carrying two BIG loaves of bread in His hand. He was truly a sent man of God. This I knew by the Spirit. He offered me a loaf of bread. I said, “No thank you, I am full.” He tilted his head in acknowledgment, turned down the path and began walking ahead of me.

Suddenly, I was at my destination. I was standing on the inside of a restaurant. The same preacher was there, and he began waving his hands to get my attention and then pointing to the right of himself. Strangely, those loaves of bread were still in his hands. Yet, he pointed me to the buffet set up on the left. There were at least 7 (seven) well stocked buffets before me… and the people of God were gorging from them. I looked at the man of God and said, “I was sent here to dine and receive from the table you prepared, but you keep trying to feed me other things. I cannot stay.”

Suddenly, I found myself outside the facility. There was a road directly ahead of me and I saw people from the restaurant walking down this path. They were overstuffed, constipated, sickly, barely able to move – yet praising God about how good the food was. Father said to me, “The food was good, but they overstuffed themselves – eating more than their portion. Some ate food that was not theirs to receive.” There was another path, and it veered off to the right. Then I heard the Lord say, “Beloved, I did not send you to eat from the buffet.” Immediately, I left and proceeded to travel down that path to right instead. I saw several other people going before me, and quickly I woke up. Disappointment gripped me.

The Interpretation of the Dream

This dream was a warning to me and to the body of Christ concerning a “trap” that has been set up in the midst of God’s people. I represented not only myself, but other believers who have been sent to receive manna from a specific person in the Body of Christ to complete an assignment that had been given to me/them by God. However, the person carrying the manna had their own plans concerning how the food would be distributed. Those plans were not the plans of God.

The man in the dream represented ministers of the gospel who were involving themselves in in-depth “networking” verses “fellowship;” AND he represented leaders who were “so busy” that they were missing divine assignments through the people the Lord was sending their way. It was so CLEAR TO ME that this man of God carried something I needed spiritually and that those people who passed his way had need of as well.

Yet, that minister HAD SO MUCH in their hands (the two BIG loaves of bread) that he could not focus on the assignment before him. Instead of having a trusted or faithful few walking with him to assist in the work of the ministry; he had all kinds of people with different backgrounds and NO DIRECTION coming forward to fill the buffets. The food (meaning the word) was mixed with all kinds of doctrines, teachings, belief systems, ministry styles, etc. and those eating were taking all of this in.

Father showed me that the bread in the minister’s hands represented the following:

• The wealth of the word INSIDE him (manna);
• The busyness of ministry; and
• The weight of ministry.

I knew without a shadow of a doubt that this minister was a man of God, and had an outpouring of revelation and understanding of the Word. Yet, due to the busyness and weight of ministry there was no time for me OR ANY of the people in His midst. I knew by the way He was gripping that bread; that he was trying to control its distribution and was moving in and out of himself verses allowing the Spirit of the Lord to lead.

Instead of seeking Father for understanding concerning the busyness and the weight, he was focused on directing me to a buffet table of other ministries – their flavors, assignments, mantles, etc. and told to just eat and eat and eat and eat without any direction or clarity from the Lord.

You see, while Father sent me and these other people to that minister; the minister did not take hold of his assignment. Rather, he pulled other people in to help him do what ONLY GOD had called HIM TO DO in the midst of these people. In other words, these people were coming to eat and partake in the vision God has given this man of God; but then the minister would allow hoards of other people to impart into those sent to him. As a result, all manners and mixtures of spiritual substance were being deposited into the belly of God’s people and they were getting sick, confused, and delirious in the realm of the Spirit. They were walking away with food poisoning, constipation, diarrhea and other ailments in the realm of the spirit.

For me, I was able to see this… and so were the people walking ahead of me. I was able to guard my heart and guard my spirit. Father wants us to know that RIGHT NOW we must be watchful – ever the more – of alliances and relationships.

The Word of the Lord

Exodus 16:14-16 NKJV says, “And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. ¹⁵ So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, “What is it?” For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, “This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat. This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: ‘Let every man gather it according to each one’s need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.’”

“Beloved, do not be ambushed by spiritual food,” says the Lord. “Do not allow anyone to replace the table I’ve prepared before you; with a table of their own making. Take what I give you to eat and eat it only. Do what I have commanded you to do with the food you receive. Many are eating from tables that I did not prepare for them. They are ingesting mana that I did not give.”

1 Kings 13:15-19 NKJV says, Then he (the lying prophet) said to him, “Come home with me and eat bread.” And he said, “I cannot return with you nor go in with you; neither can I eat bread nor drink water with you in this place. For I have been told by the word of the LORD, ‘You shall not eat bread nor drink water there, nor return by going the way you came.’” He said to him, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’” (He was lying to him.) So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water.”

“Beloved, remember my instructions,” says the Lord. “Follow me. Stand on what I have commanded you. Turn down the plate if any other is offered.”

Proverbs 4:23 AMP says, “Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.”
